About Bandaloop Records
Bill
Hutchison started out as a manager for several Ohio and Pennsylvania area
bands. After several years of building bands on a regional level, the record
labels were not reacting and frustration started to set in. Around the same
time, Bill began working for a major label as an Independent Artist Development
Representative.
After taking inventory of the regional music scene it became clear that there
was enough talent just on the regional level to justify starting a label,
without ever having to even consider bands from across the nation. By eliminating
the wasteful spending that runs rampant at major labels, a regional label
could sign and develop the best area talent while at the same time building
sales to a level where the Artists could attract a larger label, if they were
so inclined.
The result is Bandaloop Records. An artist-friendly label committed
to discovering and breaking the best talent. Let us know how we’re doing.

REFLECTIONS....JANUARY
2004
Bandaloop Records is officially 5 years old! How time flies. It seems like just yesterday that we released Ritual Space Travel Agency, Volume 1. Let me just tell you, 5 years later, that CD still kicks my butt every time. Rumor has it that RSTA may have another CD ready for us this year. Let's hope so.
Back in 1998 when I first started researching starting a label I learned that the average life span of an indie label is just over 2 years. So obviously we've beaten the odds, thanks in large part to bands like Coinmonster and Go Robot, Go!, who really helped establish Bandaloop on a national level. (We're also anticipating new releases by both bands in 2004.)
In early 2003, we changed direction a bit and signed 13 Faces. Their debut CD, These Bloody Hands was released in April and in just 8 short months, it has become the top selling Bandaloop title of all time, surpassing Coinmonster's amazing CD, "The Schematic". So with both bands planning new releases this year, 2004 promises to be a competitive and productive year.
Thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way and in the age of internet file "sharing", especially thanks to all the fans who have purchased CDs. Without you, there would be no Bandaloop Records. Here's to another 5 successful years!
